Following your appointment at Houston Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, we will submit a bill (also called a claim) to your insurance company (if you have an insurance provider). Your provider will use this claim, which details all of the services rendered, to pay us for services.
Once this process is complete, your insurance provider may send you a report called an Explanation of Benefits (EOB). The EOB explains what your provider did and did not pay for. The EOB is not a bill.
What Do I Do When I Receive a Statement?
If you are insured, then you may receive a statement from Houston Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics detailing the amount we billed your insurance provider. This is not a bill.
You will pay the remaining balance (if any) not covered by your insurance provider.
What Insurance Plans Do You Accept?
Houston Institute for Sports Medicine and Orthopedics accepts most major health plans. Because slight changes in this list are frequently made, we do not publish a list of accepted health plans online. For more information, call your insurance provider or our office at (713) 756-5546.
